April 4th, Know What To Look For Seed Saving 2:00 - 3:30 Heber Fire Department
Even though the season is just beginning, you can pick some plants to let "go to seed or bolt" so you can save your own seeds. Each year you can save your own seeds to plant the following year, will provide you with more "Climatized" seeds that will be hardier for your own location. You just need to know ahead of time what to look for.
April 11th, ELF Days at Pinedora. Educating Little Farmers program. 10am to 1pm
Bring the kids for an educational "hands-on" experience, learning about how to grow food, how nature impacts our food and health, rock painting, planting seeds, and so much more to learn here at the farm. We provide a snack/lunch for the kids, they get to take home their own seeds they planted, they get elf ears, and learning materials to take home. This is a free program for the kids. Donations are always welcome.
This event focuses on Do-It-Yourself learning, with vendors related to the Home & Garden experiences and Sustainability, off-grid living, being prepared for a multitude of things. Vendors will offer education on "how to", whether it's making tinctures, microgreens, sprouts, homemade yeast and other demonstrations. Raffles.
